LightSolver is developing a novel analog computation technology harnessing the physical properties of laser interaction in a cavity. Its Laser Processing Unit™ (LPU) overcomes a series of limitations that traditional, silicon-based computing suffers from. The LPU leverages physical properties inherent to lasers such as their fast, iterative interactions and their search for a minimum energy loss state, making it an ideal platform for intricate optimization problems and physical simulations. Computing with photons that intersect with minimal resistance and energy loss, and hence do not produce heat like electronic wires, makes processing extremely energy-efficient and reduces cooling needs.
