Solutum's core technology is a proprietary composite material built from readily available polymers, copolymers, and non-polymeric materials, engineered as a drop-in replacement for conventional plastic resin in flexible packaging. The material offers higher tensile strength than standard plastic films, enabling down-gauging of up to 50% for material savings, alongside customizable mechanical properties, strong gas-barrier performance, and an absolute oil barrier; it can be produced transparent or tinted and supports printable surfaces. Development follows a three-stage process — material customization for a specific application, in-house proof-of-concept trials, and commercial-scale production — using existing extrusion and converting equipment. The company holds WIPO patent publications covering composite material compositions and shrinkable, water-soluble polymer films incorporating PVOH grades for biodegradable packaging applications
