Guidelines for Applicants:
The Mexico-Israel program for Industrial Research and Development and Innovation is a bilateral framework operated by both governments to develop and strengthen economic, industrial, technological and commercial cooperation between Mexican & Israeli companies.

This Call invites Israeli and Mexican companies to draw up a proposal for cooperation in RDI that results in the development and commercialization of new and technologically innovative products, processes or services of industrial application leading to commercialization in the domestic and/or global markets. The following sectors will be preferred, although any technological sector will be considered:

  •     Biotechnology
  •     Agriculture
  •     Water
  •     Energy – Renewable sources
  •     Security
  •     Mining
  •     Technology Information and Communications

The bilateral framework is jointly implemented by The National Council on Science and Technology (CONACYT), in Mexico and Israel Innovation Authority in Israel. Both countries are allocating $4,000,000 USD ($2 million from each side) for funding Research, Development and Innovative (RDI) projects.

Funding

 

Israel Mexico
  • In Israel, funding by the Israel Innovation Authority will be transferred to R&D performing companies only in accordance with the National  Laws, Rules, Regulations and procedures in effect.
  • The total funding from the Government of Israel via the Israel Innovation Authority, under this framework, will not exceed 50% of the eligible and approved costs of the R&D, in accordance with the national laws and regulations. In addition, developing zones top-ups will apply.
  • Research institutes may participate and be funded as subcontractors.
  • In Mexico, funding support will be given by CONACYT in    Mexico in accordance with the National Laws, Rules,      Regulations and procedures in effect.
  • The total grant from the Government of Mexico via    CONACYT will not exceed 70% of the eligible and approved   costs of R&D from Mexican partners of the project, in       accordance with CONACYT procedures and regulations.
  • A partial or total reimbursement may be asked by    CONACYT if the result of a technical or financial evaluation    of the project doesn’t comply with project agreements.
