Program Description

Interested Israeli companies are invited to submit applications to pilot, test, adapt and optimize impactful cleantech technologies, services, and devices in a real-life environment at selected organizations chosen by the partner authorities in Colombia and the United States:

The goals of the collaboration are to stimulate transnational partnerships, accelerate the availability of cleantech innovations to the industry, introduce Israeli cleantech technology to global markets, and advance the development of discoveries for the benefit of industries around the world.

Successful applicant companies will receive funding directly from the Israel Innovation Authority, in addition to access to the partner organization’s resources and expertise in cleantech solutions, infrastructure management, and R&D activities.

Criteria

Relevant Technologies:

Israeli companies developing technologies, services, and devices in the fields of energy and water. Each participating organization has specific focus areas detailed in the relevant Program Guidelines attached below.

Conditions and Criteria:

The conditions and criteria are detailed in the Hebrew version of the incentive program for Pilots with Selected Organizations.

Funding

Approved applicants will receive:

  • Israel Innovation Authority’s conditional grant of up to 50% of the approved R&D budget of the Israeli companies, according to the Authority’s funding regulations.
  • Additional support from the partner organizations, mostly in-kind resources, such as:
    • Usage of unique facilities for beta-sites operations; 
    • Access to real-field-conditions for the tested innovation;
    • Usage of internal services, expertise, knowledge, or equipment;
    • Access to unique data, data-sets, engines, devices, skills;
    • Possibility to recruit patients, experimenters, tools, etc. from the foreign entity;
    • Experts’ and consultants’ time to guide, co-develop and, identify the parameters of the product/technology for testing or potential use cases;
    • Regulatory and legal guidance to ensure full compliance;
    • Assistance in co-commercializing the product; for example through joint work with relevant local business partners (companies, investors, distributors, etc.) that are part of the foreign entity’s network;

* Rules for this incentive program do not allow the Israel Innovation Authority to fund expenses of the foreign partner organization, if there are any, for the Israeli company.

Application Process

Before submitting a project proposal, the Israeli companies must contact the partner organization with which they are interested to collaborate. The contact information appears in the relevant Program Guidelines above.

*For collaboration with the US, Israeli companies must submit preliminary proposals to WaterStart by December 30th, 2020. For details and application, click here.

After approval from the partner organization, Israeli companies are invited to submit a project’s funding request to the Israel Innovation Authority by April 26th, 2020, at noon (IL time)

* Notice that a Letter of Intent (LOI) signed by the partners is required in the application.
