Summary
Israel Innovation Authority and the Foreign Trade Administration are inviting Israeli companies to submit applications for a call for proposals for Israeli water companies to participate in a joint pilot’s with Latin American Water Utilities, in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
This call for proposals is part of ongoing collaboration with the IDB, aimed to support the design and implementation of innovative water pilots, as well as knowledge dissemination, technical and policy exchanges, and training in LAC. The TC focuses on 4 thematic areas- Desalination, Reuse, Smart Water Infrastructure and policy strengthening.

Program Description
This call for proposals is part of ongoing collaboration with the IDB, aimed to support the design and implementation of innovative water pilots, as well as knowledge dissemination, technical and policy exchanges, and training in LAC. The TC focuses on 4 thematic areas- Desalination, Reuse, Smart Water Infrastructure and policy strengthening.
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has identified several water corporations interested in piloting with Israeli companies. The pilots include the following partners:
- Lima-Peru Water and Sewerage Service company (SEDAPAL)
- Cuenca-Ecuador the Municipal Public Telecommunications, Drinking Water, Sewerage and Sanitation Company (ETAPA)
- Parauapebas-Brazil Autonomous Water and Sewage Service (SAAEP)
- Monterey-Mexico Water and Drainage Services (SADM)

Relevant Technology Sectors:
- Sludge extraction and dewatering.
- Leaks detection in urban water infrastructure
Funding
Selected applicants can receive:
Up to a maximum of $100,000 from IDB/ Latin America water corporation to support eligible project costs.
Application Process
Application Submission is due by February 25rd, 2020 14:00 IST .

The submitted proposals will be reviewed by the Innovation Authority, but this examination is only preliminary examination and the selection of the winning proposals will be carried out by representatives of the Bank and the utilities only.
Selection Process for Israeli companies:
- Submission of EOI and supporting documents to Israel Innovation Authority by 25rd February 2020.
- Shortlist of finalists identified by LATAM water corporations and the IDB by 15 March 2020
- Invitation to meet and pitch project proposes to LATAM water corporations and the IDB in Jerusalem on 24 March 2020.
- Decision on the Israeli companies executing the pilots on 7th April 2020 by LATAM water corporations and the IDB.
