Technology

Optical Camera Communication (OCC) is a technology that uses a camera to detect and decode light signals. It turns light patterns, such as flashing lights or light codes, into data. ​OCC technology enables communication by transmitting information using visible light, infrared light, or other forms of light that the camera can capture Transmitter - A light source, such as an LED, transmits information through light signals, functioning similarly to Morse code but using light instead of sound. Reciever - A camera receiver designed to capture signals from multiple transmitters within its field of view. It can utilize either a COTS sensor or an OCC CMOS sensor. Eikolos has the technology to enable COTS camera sensor to act as an optical Reciever, and a purpose built design of an OCC sensor to perform the required functionality, at the silicon level, supporting med-high bandwidth at every pixel, at low power consmption and small footprint. A light source, such as an LED, transmits information through light signals, functioning similarly to Morse code but using light instead of sound.
