Celleste Bio’s technology enables the production of real cocoa ingredients without growing cocoa trees, using plant cell culture as a scalable manufacturing platform. Supplementing traditional agriculture, Celleste cultivates naturally occurring cocoa cells extracted from a small number of cocoa beans and grows them in controlled bioreactors. The process relies exclusively on naturally derived cocoa cells from different cocoa varieties, without artificial genetic modification. These cells inherently produce cocoa butter and cocoa powder, resulting in ingredients that are bio-identical to those derived from cocoa pods by traditional farming, and fully compatible with existing chocolate manufacturing processes.
