R.A.T.E. (Rapid Accurate Temperature Establishment) is a revolutionary technology, allowing non-invasive, instant and accurate temperature measurements. The application of R.A.T.E. in human body temperature measurement involves calculating the heat flow from the blood vessels to the skin surface, thus overcoming the need for lengthy measurement, since there is no time barrier to overcome. R.A.T.E. technolog- based thermometers are different from the common digital thermometers, which use mathematical prediction (estimation), based on skin temperature readings to determine the body temperature in 30-90 seconds. C.I.T.E.™ (Conductive Infrared Temperature Establishment) is a novel, Patent Pending, temperature measurement technology, combining the principals of the reliable conduction technology, with speed & convenience of IR technology. CITE™ consists an Infrared thermometer accurately measuring and calculating the inner body temperature from a dedicated disposable patch disposed of the patient’s skin when hospitalized. While IR thermometer can measure skin temperature, the combination of a patch with an IR radiometer can provide information about the deep tissue temperature. The patch, disposed on the patient continuously, is able to represent the deep tissue steady state temperature. By measuring heat flux and temperatures in the patch utilizing IR radiometer one can establish the deep tissue temperature with utmost accuracy as the patch is inherently in steady state.
