Description
GREEN, ROBOTIC ANTI DRONE SOLUTION OPTIMIZED FOR URBAN AREAS
Technology
DFSL's proprietary Laser Radar technology consists of the 3 blocks:
1. The Analogue Unit of the Laser Range Finder. It is responsible for the creation, emission and receive of the laser pulses. It determines the minimal sensitivity of the target which can be detected.
2. The Electro-optic block and the Scanning Mechanism. It includes the lenses and optical filters which determine the size of the beam. A smaller beam allows more energy be concentrated on the target, thus, again a better detection. It also includes the Scanning Mechanism. It provides the rotation speed of the beam and the scanning sector. The scanning mechanism is the main factor for the unit size and power consumption.
3. The Algorithm. This is the “heart” of any Automatic Target Detector for outdoor. It provides the filtering of false alarms and allows operation in changing environment. The Algorithm and the Scanning Mechanism is responsible for the resolution. Better resolution (smaller values) allows a better filtering of small moving vegetation, small animals etc. This Algorithm is also in charge with the handling the Video. It allows smooth tracking by Pan Tilt Zoom cameras and makes the communication with the other sensors and to the control room. The algorithm updates the map and adapts it for changes due to rain, wind (moving bushes), etc. Once an intruder enters (walks, runs or crawls), the protected area the ALS recognizes that it is a meaningful change and transmits an alarm message to the Control Center. Subsequently a PTZ camera will automatically track him.
