Summary:
The BrainHealth Co‑Funded European Partnership aims to promote innovative and collaborative solutions to the challenges of brain health. Its goal is to strengthen the preservation and improvement of brain health and to advance prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological and mental disorders, for the benefit of individuals living with these conditions in Europe and worldwide.
Applications for this call should address how biological, social and environmental factors impact the trajectory of brain health across the lifespan – in the field of neurodegeneration and neurological, mental and sensory disorders.
Program Description
Within this call for proposals, applications may be submitted in relation to the following two calls published under the BrainHealth Co‑Funded European Partnership:
- JTC 2026 Call 1: Neurological Mental and Sensory Disorders: This call for proposals supports aims to promote international and multidisciplinary research projects in the field of brain health, examining how biological, social, and environmental factors influence the development of neurological, mental, and sensory disorders across the lifespan.
- JTC 2026 Call 2: Neurodegenerative disorders: This call for proposals aims to promote international and multidisciplinary research in the field of brain health, examining how biological, social, and environmental factors influence the development of neurodegenerative diseases across the lifespan.
Funding
- The Innovation Authority grant rate will be 66% of the approved budget for industrial corporations and 80% of the approved budget for commercialization companies (academia).
- The total grant budget allocated by the Innovation Authority for all Israeli participants approved under the EP BrainHealth sub-program in 2026 is €0.5 million.
- This does not constitute a commitment to pay this amount, in whole or in part.
- Participants funded by the Ministry of Health under its public call will not be eligible for double funding from both the Innovation Authority and the Ministry of Health for the same activity, subject to the ISERD Procedure.
Criteria
The call is open to Israeli Industrial corporations and researchers through the research institution’s commercialization company, conducting joint research with an Israeli industrial corporation partner in the consortium, which committed to fund at least 10% of the Israeli academic partner’s project budget.
According to sub-program rules, submission within an international consortium under EP BrainHealth requires at least three partners from at least three different participating countries, with at least one being an EU member state.
Application Process
The call for proposals is a two-stage call, and the application must be submitted through two channels:
- Europe – to the EP BrainHealth Partnership,
- Israel – to the Israel Innovation Authority.
Submission to EP BrainHealth Partnership:
- Stage 1 deadline: March 10, 2026, 14:00 CET
- Stage 2 deadline: June 30, 2026, 14:00 CET

Israeli applicants must submit proposals together with partners from other countries participating in the partnership, as specified in the partnership’s call for proposals:
