Israel-India – I4F collaborations on Proof of Concept, R&D and Pilot Projects

Summary:

I4F promotes and supports technological cooperation projects between Israeli companies and Indian companies.

The fund has four programs: a feasibility test, R&D, Pilot, and strategic program.

Unlike the other programs of I4F, the Strategic Program is the only one whose topic is jointly chosen yearly by the board of directors of the fund by the national strategy of the countries.

India-Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund (I4F) invites Israeli technological companies to submit joint proposals for industrial R&D and pilot projects with Indian companies. 

This program is operated under the Authority’s Bilateral Funds incentive program. Further information is available on the I4F website.

 

Program Description

The program provides Israeli companies the opportunity to receive grants to work with their Indian partners on innovative technological PoC, R&D and pilot projects. 

For year 2026, under the chosen topic “Smart Mobility” you can find the following examples of potential scopes relevant (but not limited) to this call like: 

Feasibility Study

  • Royalties: Full grant, no royalty

  • Joint Commercialization Cost: N/A

  • Grant % of Total Budget:

    • Up to 50% of the approved project budget

    • Up to 70% for startups less than 5 years old

  • Maximum Grant: Up to USD 100,000

  • Duration: Up to 9 months

  • Budget Cap: Unlimited

 

R&D

  • Royalties: 3–5%

  • Joint Commercialization Cost: Up to USD 30,000

  • Grant % of Total Budget:

    • Up to 50% of the approved project budget

    • Up to 70% for startups less than 5 years old

  • Maximum Grant: Up to USD 2.5 million

  • Duration: Up to 24 months

  • Budget Cap: Unlimited

 

Pilots

  • Royalties: 3–5%

  • Joint Commercialization Cost: Up to USD 30,000

  • Grant % of Total Budget:

    • Up to 50% of the approved project budget

    • Up to 70% for startups less than 5 years old

  • Maximum Grant: Up to USD 1 million

  • Duration: Up to 12 months

  • Budget Cap: Unlimited

Application Process

Deadline for submission is June 1st, 2026, at 12:00 (Israel standard time).

  • The Israeli partner is required to submit I4F application forms in accordance with the Israel Innovation Authority regulations, through the official Israel Innovation Authority’s personal section on its Hebrew website
  • The Indian partner is required to submit I4F application forms to DST/TDB websites through an online system.
  • Please note:
    1. The Israeli company needs to register to the Israel Innovation Authority system (companies that applied for the Israel Innovation Authority’s support before, using the same user) and upload the proposal.
    2. It is recommended to submit the proposal ASAP. Please do not wait until the last minute. I4F will accept only proposals that were submitted on time. I4F won’t be able to accept proposals submitted later than the deadline as above
    3. Please make sure that both partners successfully submitted the proposal on both platforms! I4F won’t be able to accept proposals that were submitted only on one platform.
