Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia &#8211; Healthcare Pilot Validation Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationisrael.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/05\/Jefferson-Israel_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/innovationisrael.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/05\/Jefferson-Israel_image.jpg 480w, https:\/\/innovationisrael.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/05\/Jefferson-Israel_image-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participating Agencies<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"row clickable_images\">        <div class=\" col-6 col-md-3 col-lg-auto cube\">\n            <div class=\"clickable_image\">            <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image small_image\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationisrael.org.il\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/05\/Jefferson-LOGO_162X81.jpg\">\n            <div class=\"title\">Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia<\/div>            <\/div>        <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this call for proposal, Thomas Jefferson University and the Israel Innovation Authority are launching a pilot validation program for healthcare solutions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Israeli companies will have the opportunity to partner with Thomas Jefferson University for the express purpose of validating, scaling up and adapting their innovations to foreign environments.&nbsp;<br>Thomas Jefferson University&nbsp;owns a large health care system throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey. &nbsp;In addition to its traditional academic and clinical operations, Thomas Jefferson University provides innovation related expertise to companies to help advance clinical care and hospital operations. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas Jefferson University and the Israel Innovation Authority&nbsp;are seeking to advance healthcare by helping Israeli firms get the evidence and assistance they need to enter and be successful in the United States health care market.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The goal of a project is to co-develop, test, and pilot impactful technologies, products, services and devices within Jefferson, which are then translated to other sites and settings across the United States, and beyond<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a real-world living laboratory for external partners, to improve an existing process, or to apply a new process to health care for the first time&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seek to derive value and impact at four key levels:\n<ul>\n<li>Patient care&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revenue generation&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reputation&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Philanthropy&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Relevant Technologies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthcare<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Israeli companies are asked to submit project proposals for the validation testing of products and\/or technologies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Projects may include<\/strong>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Technology and knowledge applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Product customization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Near commercialization or new market creation activities&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The opportunity in this program is for Israeli companies to utilize and integrate their technologies and obtain validation and testing for their technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program will provide Innovative Israeli companies with the ability to access the centers&#8217; expertise to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Validate their technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preform clinical trials&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adapt their technology to market needs&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acquire regulatory experience and commercialization channels<br>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Funding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Israel Innovation Authority will provide funding of up to 50% of the approved pilot validation expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Authority will provide an additional funding of 10% to companies located in the periphery of Israel (In addition to the budget approved for R&amp;D costs).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jefferson will provide in kind services, expertise and\/or use of facilities. &nbsp;In exchange for such services, expertise and\/or use of facilities, Jefferson will be compensated by equity in the successful applicant and\/or a revenue share of the products or services that are the subject of the project. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expenses supported by the Innovation Authority within the framework of these projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Upgrade and\/or production modification&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel abroad \u2013 based of rules for cooperative projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regulatory conformation&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishment of beta-site&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portion of work by Israeli sub-contractors&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portion of work by foreign sub-contractors&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portion of production permitted abroad \u2013based on royalty regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Utility Patent&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Expenses not supported by the Innovation authority:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Marketing&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distribution&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consultants and\/or business development in target countries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding awarded by the Israel Innovation Authority will be granted upon approval from both parties and shall comply with the Israeli laws and regulations for Industrial R&amp;D.<br>For more information regarding Israeli laws and regulations, please refer to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/innovationisrael.org.il\/sites\/default\/files\/%D7%9E%D7%A1%D7%9C%D7%95%D7%9C%20%D7%94%D7%98%D7%91%D7%94%20%D7%9E%D7%A1%27%201%20-%20%D7%A7%D7%A8%D7%9F%20%D7%94%D7%9E%D7%95%27%27%D7%A4%20-%206.3.2018_2.pdf\">Israel Innovation Authority&#8217;s Hebrew site<\/a>.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase 1<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expression of Interest form&nbsp;<strong>due by April 11, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please submit an Expression of interest form (EOI) for assessment (available bellow via downloads) to Jonathan &nbsp;Cohen, &nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:Jonathan.Cohen@innovationisrael.org.il\">Jonathan.Cohen@innovationisrael.org.il<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Companies will receive feedback on eligible cooperation forms by May 20, 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible companies can peruse to phase 2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase 2<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please submit an online funding application to the Israel Innovation Authority&nbsp;<strong>by October 31st, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Please read the instructions and regulations carefully before submitting the funding application.<br>For instruction on how to submit the Israel Innovation Funding Application:<br>Please<a href=\"https:\/\/innovationisrael.org.il\/international\/programsrnd\/bilateral\">&nbsp;click here for Hebrew<\/a>. &nbsp;&nbsp;
