Bio-Convergence (BC) is a technological field that combines biologically based methods, ideas and technologies, together with knowledge and technologies from other fields such as physics, computer science, mathematics and engineering. The Israeli government aims to encourage and support the creation of an additional economic growth engine based on an innovative ecosystem in the field of BC which will be based on a competitive advantage of the Israeli industry and academic excellence and will eventually ensure our continued technological global leadership as well as serve as an additional growth engine for the Israeli economy as a whole.

Following the recommendation of a national committee on this subject, the Israel Innovation Authority is considering the establishment of an R&D infrastructure for bioengineering devices.

The R&D infrastructure is a physical place that includes equipment (such as laboratories, computational infrastructure, prototype production equipment) and dedicated personnel (such as engineers, data people, biologists, marketing and management) required to provide research and development services to researchers from industry and academia.

For this infrastructure, we are looking to receive information from companies and academic entities in the relevant fields that would like to share their opinion, experience and any other relevant information with us.

In this webinar, we will present the background to the Bio-Convergence program, the conceptual thinking regarding the establishment of an infrastructure for bioengineering devices, and hold an open conversation that will answer questions raised by the audience.
