The Israeli Innovation Authority, the Indian Department of Science and Technology (DST), GITA (Global Innovation Technology Alliance), the Indian Embassy in Israel along with leading Israeli partners including the Foreign Trade Administration, Startup Nation Central and the India-Israel Chamber of Commerce are holding a special conference to boost Israel and Indian collaborations on technology and innovation.

The conference will shed light on the most pressing technological challenges in India as well as collaboration opportunities in the ICT, healthcare, water and agriculture sectors. The conference will offer sectorial breakout tracks, best practices in succeeding in the Indian market, diverse networking opportunities and B2B meetings with Indian corporates, companies and investors.

India is the world’s leading economy growing over 7% annually, and will be the world’s most populated country by 2022. In 2017 foreign investment in India reached almost 40 billion dollars, an increase of over 5 times since 2005. These all derive from the efforts of the Prime Minister of India to ease the entry of foreign investors and companies to India.

In the last few years, India has announced new, disruptive reforms, with the aim of strengthening the economy and improving quality of life. Doubling small holder farmer’s income by 2020, opening 150,000 medical centers in peripheral regions and turning 100 central cities into smart cities are just a few.

Financially speaking almost a billion dollars is allotted to development of technologies and promotion of innovation in the agriculture sector. Healthcare in India is to reach $280 billion by 2020 and the ICT sector to reach revenue of 225 billion dollar by 2020.

In order to carry the new policy on the best side, India needs new technologies to assist in challenging areas. This is a great opportunity for Israeli companies to join forces and collaborate with Indian companies, and to elevate their potential in the Indian market.
