In her capacity as head of Societal Challenges Division, Naomi Krieger Carmy is responsible for managing and dealing with significant social challenges; these include creating hi-tech access channels for a variety of sectors in Israeli society, as well as creating solutions for the shortage in qualified personnel for Israel's hi-tech industry. The division led by Naomi also focuses on improving the effectiveness and quality of services provided by the public sector and enhancing social welfare and quality of life through technological innovation.
Krieger Carmy has 10 years experience in leading innovative projects in both business and social settings. Prior to her position at the Innovation Authority coming, she founded and managed the UK Israel Tech Hub - A first-of-its-kind project of the British government - designed to promote cooperation with Israel in the fields of innovation and technology; she has also served as the CEO of a unique nationwide program for employment integration. Prior to that, Naomi worked as an investment banker on Wall Street.
Naomi holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and International Relations from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Naomi is also a Policy Fellow at Centre for Science and Policy, Cambridge University.
