R&D Collaboration Program- Israel-Brazil

Background

The Company:

The company was founded in 2012 by Avi Brenmiller, former CEO of Siemens CSP and Solel, and a team of experts in the field of renewable energy. Brenmiller Energy’s knowledge and expertise are well-grounded and are based on years of field experience in designing, building and operating solar power plants in the US and Spain of over 500MW.

The Foreign Partner:

Short comp Established in 1989, Fortlev is the largest producer of water storage solutions in Brazil and currently the leader in its segment in Brazilian market. Acting throughout Brazil and even in other countries, it has pioneered the use of raw materials such as polyethylene in the manufacture and development of exclusive products.

Successful Innovation

With the help of the Israel-Brazil call for proposals and the Latin America Desk at the Innovation Authority, an optimal partner has been found for the development of a high-temperature thermal storage-based system for production floors in Brazil.

Thanks to this plan, a cooperation agreement was signed between Brenmiller Energy and the Brazilian company Fortlev.

This company is engaged in finding reliable solutions for energy efficiency in its plants and their application in its various production plants throughout Brazil. The joint program included the construction of a prototype on one of Fortlev’s production floors and opened a window for acquaintance with other potential customers in Brazil.

The program served as a vital tool in enabling the new partnership through the trust building and the base fund raising for our Energy Storage technology penetration to Brazil. Avi Brenmiller, Brenmiller Energy, CEO
