Events and Opportunities
Horizon Europe Framework Programme (2021-2027):
- MSCA Presidency Conference 2024 – The conference will take place on 18 and 19 April 2024 in Mons/Bergen, at the Wallonia Conference Center. The conferenece will focus on researchers' careers and will include a networking event and social and cultural activities open to all actors across Europe contributing to researchers' career opportunities and European Research Area (ERA).
- Posters display – 20 participants will get the opportunity to display their posters, or other medium, during breaks and best posters will be awarded prizes. Application is open until March 15, 2024.
- MSCA pitch competition – The Falling Walls Lab competition is an opportunity for MSCA researchers or alumni to pitch their project/research/product etc. in front of a jury. Best pitch to be awarded a cash prize and prestigious networking opportunities. The deadline for applications is 23 February 2024.
- Accelerator for Citizen Science projects – IMPETUS, funded by Horizon Europe, is offering an accelerator programme and financial support to citizen science projects. The projects should address and relate to one of the challenges released by IMPETUS and may be submitted by individuals, legal entities, and consortia from Horizon Europe Member states or Associated Countries. Selected projects will receive training, mentoring and marketing support to advance their project as well financial support of Euro 20K for new projects and Euro 10K for on-going projects. Applications may be submitted by March 14, 2024.
- European Union Prize for Citizen Science – The Prizes are offered to outstanding Citizen Science projects and activities that have either completed in the last two years, started in the last two years and have preliminary outcomes, or older than two years and still active. The prize has 3 categories: The Grand Prize of Euro 60K for outstanding achievements in empowering civil society, and two additional prizes of Euro 20K each for projects addressing Diversity & Collaboration or Digital Communities. Applications may be submitted by March 11, 2024.
- Horizon Results Booster, for projects approved under Framework Programme 7, Horizon 2020, or Horizon Europe - Apply now to the free of charge EU-funded consultation service assisting projects with marketing design, social media dissemination, market analysis, business plan and strategy, IPR management, pitching to investors, and finding additional funding resources. The services are available until May 2024.

- In case a H2020 Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Global Fellowships researcher decides to return to Europe during the outbreak, what will happen with the project? If teleworking is allowed, can the MSCA researcher telework either in a third country or in Europe?
- One of the requirements under MSCA projects is the “mobility rule” (see Part 3 of the Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2018-2020). What happens if the mobility rule can no longer be fulfilled as a consequence of the COVID-19 related travel restrictions?
